Passenger Transportation JSC reminds passengers of the list of items prohibited from carriage on rail transport. In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attempting to transport dangerous or prohibited items entails criminal liability.

What is prohibited on the train?

  • Explosive devices and substances, pyrotechnics (fireworks, fireworks, and other potentially explosive items).
  • Radioactive and narcotic substances, flammable liquids and substances, including gasoline, methyl ether, and methanol.
  • Flammable solids.
  • Poisonous, potent, and toxic substances in liquid or solid form.
  • Infectious or biologically hazardous materials, substances, and items containing them.
  • All types of firearms, including throwing weapons, electrical weapons, mechanical weapons, combination weapons, barrel-less traumatic weapons, gas weapons, objects with impact-crushing action, checkers, sabers, cleavers, yataghans, broadswords, swords, bayonets, daggers, dirks, stilettos, brass knuckles, and flails.
  • Ammunition for firearms and gas weapons, including live cartridges, flashbang cartridges, traumatic cartridges, blanks, and loaded hunting cartridges.


Before commencing a train journey, passengers undergo mandatory security screening at train stations. For security purposes, X-ray television systems, stationary and hand-held metal detectors, and portable detectors are installed at major railway stations. Video surveillance, security, and alarm systems are in operation, and police and security personnel are on duty 24/7.

To improve passenger safety, a video surveillance system is being gradually implemented on trains. 1,350 video cameras are installed in 630 Talgo train cars (24 trains). An additional 92 cameras are installed in 46 restaurant cars and bar cars on 19 routes. Video data is sent to the Situation Center, where specialists conduct prompt analysis and investigate each unusual incident.

The company urges passengers to comply with established rules and to be understanding of the security measures aimed at ensuring comfortable and safe travel.
