Passenger Transportation JSC continues to develop digital technologies on its passenger trains. In the coming months, Starlink internet will be available on two more trains on routes No. 33/34 from Aktobe to Almaty and No. 21/22 from Kyzylorda to Semey.

Passengers were able to enjoy internet access en route for the first time thanks to the implementation of Starlink technology on the new-generation Burabay Express electric train No. 888/887 traveling on the Astana-Borovoye Kurort route. This is the first high-speed electric train with high-speed internet, with speeds exceeding 250 Mbps.

The initial results of the pilot project have demonstrated high demand for the service. Passengers can now view entertainment content, exchange messages via instant messaging apps, work while traveling, and use additional services such as an online scoreboard, a multimedia system, and cashless payments.

For the national carrier, the project enhances safety: video cameras installed allow monitoring of the train's environment while in transit, and GPS trackers enable route control from a control center.

This solution was made possible through a joint partnership with SkyNomad, a company specializing in implementing high-speed internet on trains. SkyNomad developed a comprehensive web platform providing passengers with stable internet access. The Starlink technology used provides internet access even in the most remote regions, where traditional networks are virtually nonexistent.

This year, as part of its digitalization and internet rollout on trains, JSC Passenger Transportation launched a pilot low-orbit high-speed satellite internet service on Talgo trains No. 67/68 "Astana - Oskemen" and No. 3/4 "Astana - Almaty." To date, more than 100,000 passengers have already used the internet on these three routes.
