With the onset of summer holidays, many parents with children go on train trips. National carrier reminds about the rules for transporting children on trains.

Parents are allowed to transport one child under 7 years old free of charge, if he or she does not occupy a separate seat. To occupy a separate seat, you must purchase a child ticket. If a family is traveling with several children under 7 years old, then one adult can transport only one child free of charge, and child tickets are purchased for the remaining children.

Children from 7 to 15 years old are allowed to travel on child tickets. The cost of a child ticket is 50% of the cost of an adult ticket.

For children from 15 years old, an adult ticket is purchased. They can travel independently, but must have a notarized written consent from their legal representative.

The following rules apply to interstate transportation: children under 5 years old can travel free of charge without a seat; children from 5 to 10 years old travel at a child rate; children from 10 to 15 years old within Kazakhstan pay 50% of the full ticket price, and in other countries - at the full rate.

If a child is traveling accompanied by parents, then when purchasing a ticket and boarding the train, it is necessary to present a birth certificate or passport of the child. If the child is not accompanied by a legal representative, then when boarding the train it is necessary to provide a notarized permission from both parents.

The national carrier also strongly recommends observing safety rules and monitoring children so that they are always under adult supervision.
