The program plans to renovate 125 stations, including in the cities of Kokshetau, Kostanay, Atyrau, Zhezkazgan, Almaty, Turkestan, Oskemen, Semey, Aktobe and Oral. The facilities, built in the last century, serve thousands of passengers every day. In 2024, about 40 million people - residents and guests of the country - used the services of the stations.

The project provides for both external and internal renovation of the buildings. The architectural appearance of the stations will be brought into line with modern requirements. When developing the projects, public requests were taken into account.

In some buildings, the redevelopment of premises is envisaged to reorganize passenger flow. This will create full-fledged transport and logistics hubs that provide convenient transfers, including to other modes of transport. It is planned to build concourse crossings at stations where passenger traffic has increased.

In addition, the stations will undergo a complete modernization of engineering systems, installation of new warning and information systems. Particular attention will be paid to compliance with anti-terrorism and fire safety standards, as well as sanitary and epidemiological requirements (arrangement of medical centers, toilets). Repair and reconstruction of platforms, as well as installation of platform canopies are planned.

One of the most important areas of the project will be the creation of a barrier-free environment. New ramps will be built and existing ones will be updated at entrances, exits and inside buildings. All key services will become accessible to people using wheelchairs. It is planned to update induction panels, tactile paths, purchase lifting devices for free movement to the second floors.

The reconstruction will also affect the service infrastructure of the stations. If technical and technological capabilities are available, short-term waiting rooms and other necessary premises will be organized. Waiting areas will be equipped with Wi-Fi access. It is planned to open modern food outlets, storage rooms, long-term rest rooms, including mother and child rooms.
