In Astana, at the Stadler Kazakhstan LLP plant, serial production of passenger cars for Passenger Transportation JSC has begun as part of the railway transport modernization program. The project is being implemented under a contract providing for the production of 557 cars by 2030, including compartment cars, reserved seats, specialized cars for people with disabilities and generator cars.

The management of the National Carrier visited the enterprise and got acquainted in detail with the production process. During the visit, company representatives inspected the finished bodies of passenger and generator cars, and also visited all production workshops.

At the moment, the plant, where more than 400 employees work, has deployed a full technological cycle, including:

• Welding and painting of bodies

• Assembly of electrical components

• Production and installation of bogies

•I nstallation of internal elements of the car

• Static and dynamic testing before release

Over the past two years, the enterprise has undergone a large-scale modernization, which allowed not only to introduce modern production technologies, but also to train local specialists, ensuring a high level of localization.

Stadler cars are comfortable compartment cars with 40 berths. The cars will be equipped with a modern air conditioning system, video surveillance, electric heating and an automatic fire extinguishing system.

For the comfort of passengers, each compartment will be equipped with electrical outlets and built-in USB ports for charging mobile phones en route.

An important feature of the new trains will be the exterior design, made in the colors of the national flag - blue, yellow and white, which will emphasize the national identity and symbols of Kazakhstan.

The new cars will be developed specifically for operating conditions in Kazakhstan, taking into account the climatic features and long distances between cities.

According to the terms of the contract, the first batch of 51 cars of the train will be transferred to Passenger Transportation JSC this year. In addition, the plant will undertake the technical maintenance of the delivered cars for a period of 20 years, which will ensure their uninterrupted operation and extend their service life.
